Is Dexcool still the best coolant for my Envoy?.

While I'm replacing the water pump and my cooling system is drained....is Dexcool still the right stuff? That's what I ran the last time about 5 years ago when I did a cooling system service drain and fill.

Yes. A 50/50 mixture. You can buy straight and mix yourself or buy the 50/50 mixed already.

I'd stick with it despite what others around the net say. There was an issue with certain cars but the 360's never had that problem that I'm aware of.

For some reason, I think I remember that some of the GM V6 engines had problems with Dex-Cool but I could be way off base.

Yes it is ok to stay with it. BUT it is neither a 100k or 50k mile coolant despite what GM advertises. Drain and flush every 30-40k miles just like other brands recommend. Also add a bottle of BG coolant additive (look up BG Products). A must do for ALL vehicles
