I have been doing some research on installing a remote start system on trailblazers and have most of my wireing mapped out but I heard of the theft lock disabling the vehicle sometimes when you use remote start I just want to make sure I don't lock it up any idea?

If you get a passlock/door lock interface, everything will work correctly. The interface will send a valid passlock signal during a remote start. I use the GMDLBP (it does passlock and door locks) but there are other interfaces that have been reported to work well.

From what I've seen, the issues that come up are when folks try to avoid buying the interface and instead override passlock. Then they realize that the door locks won't work with the alarm fob and end up buying the interface anyway.

The box I got is supposed to work with the anti theft but i have never messed with this sort of thing its a prestige APS-620N will I still need an interface and if it does lock it up what will I have to do

still requires a bypass module for it to work

I got a ultrastart 1200xr pro and fortin int-sl+ bypass module... only needed one additional relay and was a total of about 9 wires to connect.

not to hijack the thread, but is there a way to get the horn to signal when the doors are locked with the remote start fob? the cheapest viper remote start (130xv) was installed on my truck when I bought it. it all works, and I think the parking lights flash twice for lock. I'm fairly sure the "issue" I'm experiencing is just the limitations of my remote start, but I'd someone to cosign on it.

Most viper units have a horn output that cab fed to a relay. Other more expensive units can control the horn through the obd2 data circuit. Some settings will need to be made either by jumper or using a coded sequence of button presses. Or by using a bit writer. You should be able to tap into the column harness and get it that way.
