I've seen these on several websites and know a few GMTN members have them installed.

I am interested in getting these as well as upgrading the tail lights & 3rd brake light.

For those that have this Anzo style, what non-HID hi/lo bulbs are you using?

Does the hyper flash occur or is that not an issue with this led turn signal?

Can the CCFL / halo rings be disabled or removed? I'm not a big fan of those.

I've seen the headlight sets from the RMS Customs member, but $550+ is alot to drop at once. He does great looking work, don't get me wrong.

My idea is to install a set of these headlights and try out the Lifetime LED bulbs (there is a local dealer here that has them in stock and offer a mil discount). if I don't like them or they don't live up to their claim, I'll go with HID's in the lo beam only.

The halo's are on their own circuit and you can just leave them unwired, removal would require baking the headlight to get it open. I have had hyper flash issues, however I think the resistor on the driver side is bad which is causing it. I have not messed with it in a while but I have a few ideas to fix it. I cannot comment on other bulbs as HID's were already installed when I swapped headlights.

I bought my set on ebay for around $250. I have had no issues with the led turn signals, I did however lose the adjustment nut on the projector. I have temp fixed it so it at least sits straight.

I paid $220.00 on ebay for mine from the vendor below. I'm not 100% sure why they're currently listed at $900+ dollars, makes zero sense, but yeah.

I have not had a hyper flash issue until I replaced my rear tail lamps with LED's, and it's because of the rear lamps load resistor. The lamps are great. But I can't tell you anything about the bulbs since those wear the first thing I chucked.

:undecided: LED bulbs in the headlights ..... let me know how that works.

I have been pretty skeptical about these, but I guess technology is improving quickly. Kevin (DFWWIZ) has been selling 9005/9006/880/H7/H11 LED kits from his vendors over on SSOwners, and people are pretty happy with them. I spent a good chunk of yesterday running through his thread there.

Unfortunately for me, they don't make any that fit the projectors I have, but maybe by the time I'm due for another retrofit, that will have changed.

:undecided:Interesting indeed, however HID's are 3,200- 3,400 Lumens at 35 Watt and an about 5,000 Lumens at 55 Watt. I'm running 55w's at 5000K color temp (very close to true white) on both the highs and lows on these projectors. I'd reckon they're brighter than his LED's at 3600 Lumens.

Basically you're paying twice the cost for a 35W Hid, in the hopes it will last longer. I've had mine in for a year and half and only had one bulb go out because I broke it fiddling with the headlamp housing. I do suppose lower current draw would be a plus however.

Also, the fact that the light is side output, not sure how that works in a projector.

Just because a lot of people are happy with something, doesn't necessarily mean it's the best solution. There are plenty of folks on this forum who think that HID's in the stock head lamp housing is somehow completely perfect and the beam pattern is wonderful.

Do post up if you go this route, I'm very curious about how it works out too. I like LEDs, I've converted most of my G8 to them.

I saw that someone in the thread posted that as well. Since I'm running 35W, it would be a step up in that regard.

I had my VVME kits running for 4 years until I went to my projectors a couple months ago. For me personally, I would be getting them for the lack of warm up time, cooler operating temperature, and not needing to run relay harnesses. Might get a pair for the fog lights still.

The light still has to shine into a reflector bowl before is passes the cutoff shield and through the projector lens. And you're right, people being happy doesn't mean it's the best, BUT it does mean that the product works as advertised. That's all I ever ask for. I'll admit, I was one of those people, until I made the move to projectors.

2nd retrofit: Lexus LS430 low beams, and maybe these 9005 LEDs for the high beams. That might work nicely for me, considering that was my first choice, but wanted to figure out WTH I was doing first.

Actually the LED's might be nice for the high-beams, but for me they need to match the lows lumens or be even brighter, because of the instant on. For the low's, I figure that when they come on the time to warm up isn't that big a deal because I'm probably backing out of a parking space or something in most cases.

I was planning on getting around to doing the lows on when the highs are on mod to solve the warm up delay for the HID's.

Any reason you chose to run a relay harness? I'm not running one with my DDM Kit, just straight plug and play.

this is what I saw on the Stomper Off-Road FB page that made me consider getting the led bulbs

so I thought what better way to use them by also getting projectors...will post more results as the get installed

I just ordered the low and fog LED's from Kev...looking forward to seeing the difference from my HID's.

I just did the front fuse block diode mod this past weekend. That's a must when running bi-xenons.

2 reasons. Initially I was running auto quads (lows and fogs) So I used 1 relay harness to fire the low beam ballasts, and extended the 12V wire on the other one to reach to the passenger headlight to fire the fog light ballasts. The other reason was due to some members complaining about melted wiring and stock connectors.

Now that I'm running quad projectors, it's more or less the same thing. Figured the current draw of 2 ballasts when they fire coming through 1 connector would make them more prone to melting, so toss a harness for each pair and call it a day.

The lumen rating is a bit lower than the ones Kevin's selling, although a lifetime warranty is tough to beat. I'd like to know how often they have problems and require a replacement. :undecided:

I have a set of Kevin's low beams in my truck. Last Friday driving to work, the passenger light died. I emailed Kevin, sent him a picture of my driver, sent him some PP for shipping (my choice) and I had the new drivers in my mailbox on Monday. It could have been Saturday, but I was out of town.

I haven't installed the new drivers yet. I will this weekend when it goes above freezing after I wash it.
Kevin and the manufacturer are aware of the driver issue. Kevin has been replacing them for free to other owners from TBSS.

Overall, I have been extremely happy with all the lights I have purchased from Kevin and look forward to doing more business with him in future.

what sellers usually do is when they are out of stock on their specific item instead of removing the listing they raise it to a ridiculous price so that people won't buy it. when they have more in stock they will lower the price again!

Those are definitely not worth that price especially when you can get a complete retro with real projectors for $400

I think he was referring to the set for $900 on ebay.

Also dmanns, those do have a real projector lens. While it is not as nice as the Acura or Infiniti that are used for retrofits, they are projector lenses.

Many of us who choose to add projectors to our stock headlights will choose either the H1 or D2S kits from TheRetrofitSource (in the Easy Install section) for about $300 depending on what add ons you go for. Depending on the condition of your current headlight assemblies, you may want to buy a set of aftermarket ones so your main lenses are perfectly clear. I've also heard the sealant is much easier to bake open on aftermarket sets than OEM ones. Can usually find some on Ebay (TB LS/SS ones at least) for about $100. :twocents:

How long did the light last before it died? He has been replacing others on TBSS? Doesn't sound like the quality is quite there yet. Im interested in these but wouldnt want to keep replacing bulbs. I'll wait until some more people jump on board and post they're reviews.

The aftermarkets are true projectors, the cut off isn't as great as say the retrofit ones, but for the cost + time are a better deal IMPO. I've been happy with mine for the last two years now.

They were installed for a week give or take. Kevin has been honest regarding the failures. They have been posted about on TBSS. If you read the thread he made, he owns up to it. I have not heard of the new style drivers failing yet.
