Not sure were to start looking. Randomly one day when I started the truck with the door open the audio noise that it usually make got 5 time louder. It seems like if I drive the truck for a while it will go away. any advise?

I remember vaguely one of my previous vehicles, possibly my '00 Jimmy, would do that once in a while. Haven't seen it on the TB. Never could find the cause.

This is directly from the owner's manual in regards to chime level adjustment.

"The radio is used to adjust the vehicle’s chime level. To change the volume level of the chime, press and hold push button 6 with the ignition on and the radio power off. The volume level will change from the normal level to loud, and LOUD CHIME will appear on the radio display. To change back to the default or normal setting, press and hold push button 6 again. The volume level will change from the loud level to normal, and NORMAL CHIME will appear on the radio display. Removing the radio and not replacing it with a factory radio or chime module will disable vehicle chimes."

I have also read that you can adjust the chime volume by having the key in the ignition and in the OFF position, turn on the headlights, then open the driver's door. Once the chimes start, you can use the the dimmer knob to adjust the chime volume. Never tried this method though so I am not sure if it works.

Maybe try adjusting the audio level to see if the makes a difference.

FYI: I tried this on my 06 TB and it did NOT work. It does work by pressing the radio button #6.

How did you resolve the issue?

I had a after Market cd player in my truck. After taking it out and taking a look at the wiring I found the after market interface was going bad. It has been installed in the truck for over 6 years. I reinstalled the factory radio and it fixed the the door ajar alarm. I currently have no interest in paying $100 for a new after market Interface.

And some interfaces are adjustable and others not. And of course those that aren't adjustable are stupid loud, like my PAC.
