I've driven 4wd before I just didn't quite understand the a4wd and apparently was completely off.

That answered my questions about when I can change over to 4wd ( I found the answers surprising) but I'm still wondering about speeds.

I've never driven a vehicle before my trailblazer with a 4wd switch on the dash. I have some questions and I bet I'm not the only one....atleast I hope not.:redface: Do I need to stop the vehicle and put it in park before I switch to 4wd. A4WD means automatic 4wd correct? as in it switches...

Looking damn good! I spoke with my local Kansas transportation board member (my father lol) and he made an excellent point about this mod. It really needs to be tied in to the dowel at the back and the front needs to be tied down as well some how. Just think about where that thing is going if...

I'm still looking at attaching it by the hatch and having it in 2 pieces. Instead of attaching a rod to the part behind the seat I'll just put a leg of some sort to support it. I'm not concerned about bolting it to the vehicle or anything all though I could just strap it to one of the floor...

I think in your situation that is the way to go. Also you could put a dowel in the pocket of the back seat seat belt area, to give it even more stability. At this point I've even thought about just making a 2x4 leg at the back of each section and not even attaching it to the side of the vehicle...

Oil looked fine. When I drained it yesterday. The Dipstick doesn't show anything but clean oi either. I drive it 11 miles to work then 11 miles home everyday It takes a few over an hour long road trips a couple times a month. I'm running Castrol 5w30.

I was thinking the same thing on time frame and on having an upholstery shop do the cover. I have a guy locally that has done a few seats for me. I can't imagine it would cost a terrible amount to cover 2 pieces of plywood. Now if I decide to have it embroidered there's another story.

I was changing the oil in the tb yesterday and noticed this. I know it's not much but I had a 95 grand prix that head a head gasket out and this was the first sign so I'm just checking with everyone.

I took a quick look at mine when I went out but it's snowing and cold as hell so it was a very quick look. I'm almost tempted to just buy a black heavy duty shower rod lol.:rotfl:

With that Idea I'm thinking cutting a dowel rod not PVC. I was thinking the same thing. There has to be a way to drill into the dowel then epoxy in some nuts.the hardest part will be getting the nuts placement right so that you're not fighting it while trying to put the two pieces together. Hell...

depends on how snug you buy the pvc. you could also use a cotter pin of some sort to hold the pvc in it's place..or if you aren't one for looks..duct tape. lol.
