    Flashing SES, BAD COIL!!!

Yup, sounds familiar. I've replaced two coils on my 2003 Voy.

    Engine is overheating??

Sounds good. Any recommendations for the water pump? Gates (incl. metal gasket) is $27.70, up to ACDelco for $44.99. The ACDelco pumps say to order new mounting bolts as well. Funny, the Hayden description says not to replace the fan clutch unless there is a code related to it found using...

    Engine is overheating??

I don't plan on getting a PCM tune. I just can't justify that for myself, and it would leave me without the truck for awhile, up here in Northwest BC, Canada. Maybe in the future? I'm not sure how long I will hang on to this truck either. I have about 170,000 kms now, but it seems like every...

    Engine is overheating??

I need to replace my water pump, and I'm thinking I should replace the fan clutch at the same time as it has been making a ticking sound at idle. Should I replace the fan clutch with a new electronic version, probably the Hayden model from RockAuto, or should I go with the 2008/09...

Replacing air springs with coil springs, and add a bit of lift.

With LT245/70/R17 Tires, and the coil springs. The voy is now sitting at 36" to the wheel well on each side in the rear, and 33" on both sides in the front. Getting rid of the leaky bags has fixed the droop to the passenger side that was there.

Replacing air springs with coil springs, and add a bit of lift.

So last night I completed the replacement of my air suspension with coil springs. The springs I used are listed in my last post. Everything went pretty well. At first I didn't disconnect the upper control arms and was going to pry the springs into place, but then I noticed the UCA was resting...

    Z71 Springs ??

I just went through this decision as I was replacing my stock air springs, and am thinking about a lift in the future. I decided to go with an aftermarket spring made for the Envoy XL, TB EXT. They have a stiffer rate, and heavier design load, but don't change the ride height much compared to...

Towing question with 2003 Envoy XL 4.2L I6

No I'm not. Doing some internal stuff this year. Not a full redo though. New fridge, cushions recovered, curtains, and we laid some laminate flooring over the tiles. Still have to test the electrical and plumbing systems. The trailer was gifted to us from my inlaws. Free trailer equals about...

Towing question with 2003 Envoy XL 4.2L I6

Nice trailer! I have a 1965 Airstream Safari, 21' single axle. It is 3300lbs empty, and 300lb tongue weight. So far I've towed it without a WD hitch, but I had the air suspension to level it out.

2002+ Bravada/Envoy/Trailblazer air suspension compressor - why they fail

The question is, are there different shocks for the rear depending on whether there are air springs installed, or coil springs?

2002+ Bravada/Envoy/Trailblazer air suspension compressor - why they fail

All the info I've read on this forum has shown there to be two different lengths of rear shocks. Either OEM replacements from ACDelco, or any of the aftermarket brands. But I think I've lead this discussion away from the original post. Sorry. Your pictures confirm that switching to coil...

2002+ Bravada/Envoy/Trailblazer air suspension compressor - why they fail

It would be the same for any that are equipped with air springs, like mine was. But for any that had coil springs there is a different part. See the shocks in my link, one is for with rear air suspension, and one for without. It looks to me like all Bravada's were air suspension.

2002+ Bravada/Envoy/Trailblazer air suspension compressor - why they fail

The tongue weight of my trailer is 300lbs. I'm going with the XL/EXT springs to add a bit of lift for going on logging roads and fishing at the river. The Bilstein HD shocks are the 4600 series they make, and overall the consensus is that they are the best replacement shock available for our...

Replacing air springs with coil springs, and add a bit of lift.

Rear springs are in the mail from RockAuto. In the end, I decided on Raybestos Envoy XL springs. Higher load rating and spring rate than the SWB springs, but not as stiff as Avalanche springs. If I need additional load capacity for towing I'll get AirLift air bags. Still planning a lift when I...

2002+ Bravada/Envoy/Trailblazer air suspension compressor - why they fail

Hey, didn't even notice you were from BC! I've already ordered springs online from RockAuto, they are in the mail. I ordered the XL rear springs from Raybestos, came to about $120 shipped. They will be stiffer than the air springs, or stock SWB springs. But I tow a trailer once in awhile, and I...
