    JayArr's 4l60E Rebuild Thread

Nice thorough work! I am looking forward to the first drive for you! I rebuilt my 2wd TB trans at 181K because of a broken rotor in the pump. I put it all back together and had to replace the internal wiring harness. I spent about $1500 in parts (OEM converter) I feel like it is worth it...

    Thinking of the Baby Duramax

Just going to jump in here and say the FEW 3.0L inline 6s we have seen, 2 of them started leaking oil from rear main seal. Replaced the seal and they came back in a month or two. replaced the rear cover plate and all has been good. Keep an eye on your oil level. There are lots of trans cooler...

    diagnosing TCC lockup issues.

Not sure. Here's catalog pic of the TCC solenoid. It goes into the pump body. Harness is number 377, and right to lower left of that number is the TCC solenoid. Can kinda see the coil windings and the vertical part goes into the bottom of the pump body.

    diagnosing TCC lockup issues.

Personal experience here. I bought a 2003 Shorty TB with 182,000 miles on it with a busted trans pump. I went through it all and replaced almost everything, I even did the sonnax reaming of the valve body and had the new valve installed. I kept getting a P1870 code for TCC issues. You will...

EXT rear ac block off , anything else needed?

just use a SWB AC hose. and if you are taking it to a shop, they should be able to figure that out. I know because I have sold a mechanic (good friend) a SWB hose that he ditched the rear AC on a LWB with rear AC.

    No movement any gears

any CELs? Only thing I see could be temp differences with cold fluid is thicker and applying pressure, but when it gets hot, it is thin and fluids slips past seals.

    P00017 P00014

within the last year at work we have done about 4 timing chain jobs on the 6 cylinder and the 5 cylinder atlas engines. The chain stretch isnt as bad a LLT or LFX 3.6. We really rarely see these things at our dealer anymore. It's a shame the engines cost about 4K. I would follow Mooseman's...

    Rear Window Defroster

you could have one wire pinched or broken in a harness, not common, but can happen. I usually just ohm out the wire to check for continuity. Glad it 'fixed' itself! I hate those intermittent problems.

I would try a new VVT solenoid, and if that doesnt fix it, you may need a timing chain job in your future.

NEED HELP 2003 chevy s10 need help

If you took the dash apart to do a heater core, did you maybe leave something unplugged that relates to the ignition and immobilizer system near the steering wheel?

Envoy with dreaded rough idle, no codes, UPDATE FIXED!

Thanks budwich and TequilaWarrior. 2003 LS 4.2 , it's in my signature. The idle bothers me because I think it should run perfectly smooth and no twerk/jitter at idle. It isn't a huge deal and everything else is great with the truck.
