Smart move keeping the Trailblazer over the Ford Escape.
Linda's 2002 Trailblazer, my girl, is comfortable enough that if I ever did not have my 2005 Tahoe Z71, I would get a Trailblazer. Even...
While our 2006 LT is seeingnits age and has some issues (body rust, abs module failed and AIR pump removed) it runs and drives like a champ. Both kids came home from the hospital in it. My...
Yesterday, we just came back from North Bay from our son's wedding on Saturday. It was in a barn venue which made it really nice. Even though they have been together for 9 years and have already...
I did a round trip this weekend to see my aging parents and one of my brothers. Was a worthwhile trip. Helped out around the house and a great visit. I took the WL Grand Cherokee and it...
Actually, Ford's has a few less issues than GM's even though it's basically the same tranny. GM cheaped out on the manufacturing. It was developed by ZF and Ford/GM bastardized it.
Truck here at 11 and got started. Old one off and back together with the new one was a 2 hour job. Old stuff fought coming apart. Then had to make adjustments to new one to get close to same old...
As you see from the thread title, I finally figured it out. It was one of those expensive :duh:
Tore everything apart again with plans on how to test this. I unplug the fan and active...
Well, took the head off that motor. Not even the head is salvageable. Looks like the connecting rod just decided to leave the chat. The other cylinder looks perfect. No idea if it was over...
All my ramps are 7" lift and when I run a vehicle up on front ramps, if they have the low slung air foil, I have 2" spacers that they go up on first before hitting the ramps.
For the recheck, if you have a level surface and 4 ramps, put the truck in 4x4 and ramp it up on all 4 wheels. Done that many times. Almost like having a lift.
My wife got me 4 ramps many years ago, just for this purpose.
Today I did a tear down and service on the 2021 Grand Cherokee with about 84,000km. Went well, for the most part. The brakes came...
I have read that some people don't do the "on blocks " run though the gears procedure, they do the fill, check level when running and then go for a short drive and recheck the level . I'm tempted...
Funny, I just bought the Pan/filter and fluid to do the ZF8 in my GC, there is quite a procedure to it and I'm a little hesitant to start the process until I read up a little more on it.
I worked on my daughter's 2020 Ram 1500 classic today. Bought used with 85,000km. I did the full break down and inspection. It went way, way, WAY better than our other 1500. Everything came...
Today helped my sledding buddy disassemble a sled that he bought with a blown motor. Sad really as the sled itself was in great shape. The PO had no idea why it blew but he did say that he had...
With an inguinal hernia flaring up and as I get older I seem to be slowing down and ache more, I am planning on taking on less and less work and traveling more with my girl, Linda. I still have...
